Else Kröner Fresenius Symposium

October 5th - 9th, 2024

The world's leading scientists in the field of nanomedicine presented their latest research findings at the Else Kröner Fresenius Symposium in Erlangen from October 7 to 9, 2024 under the title “Nanomedicine - from bench to bedside”. The congress was organized by Prof. Dr. Christoph Alexiou, Senior Physician at the Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic - Head and Neck Surgery (Director: Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. Heinrich Iro) and Head of the Section for Experimental Oncology and Nanomedicine (SEON) at Erlangen University Hospital, and his team. The keynote lecture of the symposium was given by nano-researcher and current Nobel Prize winner in Chemistry Prof. Dr. Moungi Bawendi from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge (USA) on October 7, 2024.

The event focused on the latest developments in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases using nanoparticles. Key topics included the use of nanoparticles in tumor therapy, innovative approaches to drug delivery using RNA technology and the role of nanotechnology in regenerative medicine and sepsis diagnostics. Advances in the diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases and the integration of artificial intelligence and robotics in nanomedicine were also discussed.
