General: Development, synthesis, characterization of superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPIONs) for medical applications in drug delivery and diagnostics.

  • Gene therapy using SPIONs (DFG funding with Tel-Aviv University in Israel)
  • Effect enhancement by SPIONs for radiotherapy
  • Pathogen extraction, sepsis diagnosis and treatment (funded by: Dr. Robert Pfleger Foundation)
  • Quantum sensing with SPIONs as histological imaging technique
