Working title: "Influence of nanoparticles on macrophage polarization".
Macrophages infiltrating tumor tissue are often composed of anti-inflammatory M2 macrophages. However, to combat tumors, pro-inflammatory M1 macrophages would be required to identify tumor cells and initiate immune responses. Based on this background, the aim of this work is to find out what influence nanoparticles have on macrophage polarization and whether macrophages can be induced to M1 polarization in this way.
